Generally, we use only the Past option or CTRL+V to past values in cells. However, there are many other variations to paste data in Excel sheets. After copying the data, just by clicking the right button on your mouse, you will find multiple ways to paste data, whether you want to paste data with the same format as copied or remove the format and paste data.
Paste Values
Suppose you want to paste the copied value from one cell to another cell without copying and pasting the format of the cell. You can select the cell from where you want to copy the data, Click on CTRL+C, choose a cell where you want to paste data, then click on ALT+E followed by S and V. This option is useful when you want to remove existing formatting from the data.
Paste Formats (or Format Painter)
Suppose you want to paste formatting from one cell to another without copying the cell's data. You can select cells from where you want to copy the format by pressing CTRL+ C, then move to the cell where you want to paste data and Press Alt+E followed by S and T. With the help of this option; you can save time as you do not have to format cells again and again manually.
Transpose
With the help of Transpose, you can copy data from a column and paste it in a row or copy data from a row and paste it in column format.
To perform this, you must follow the given steps.
Select the data range to transpose, click on CTRL+C, select a cell below with enough space to paste selected data, click on Alt+E followed by S and E, and click on Enter. Now, you can delete the original data if not required. You can also access this option by right-clicking on your mouse; after copying the data, you have to select the cell where you want to paste data, then click on the right button of your mouse and select the paste special option, from the menu appeared now select the transpose option to paste data.
Copy and Paste Data Validation
Once you set data validation rules in a cell by investing time to make the process easy, you can use the same data validation rules in other cells or ranges. For that, there is no need to insert data. validation rules manually again. By following the simple step, you can copy-paste the data validation rule from one cell to another cell easily.
Select the cell from where you want to copy data validation, press Ctrl+C, then move to the cell where you want to paste data validation. Now click the right button on your mouse, then from the drop-down menu, select past special, click on the Validation option, and then click on OK.
